This cpu beats the prior gen I7 11700. The only problem right now is there is very little good priced motherboards out there for LGA 1700.

Motherboard and 32GB RAM for $130 is a good price if you're on a budget and buying 12th gen processors anyway.
If you find a DDR5 board from a reputable brand with 32GB RAM at this price I will certainly eat my hat, but at a glance, I don't see anything under about $300.
If you're streaming, web browsing, running office ... isn't >10th gen i3 about all the same? (maybe there are some compatibility limitations regarding 4k 60fps output. igpu have probably improved recently)
Used 12th gen i5 32gb desktops are $350-400 on ebay fwiw. Used 2-3 year old laptops are kinda cheap now <$500-600
i5 12600kf seems like no-man's land. It doesn't feel like a great time to upgrade

Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs suffer from "degradation issues": https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/co...h_gen_cpu/
I use i5-12600k for gaming in 2025, and I have no issues. It's a good CPU, but if I was to buy a new one, I would probably get threadripper just to see how many PCIe lanes I can use up...
