The Twin Grips really are fantastic. The carve out at their tips is very handy. The metal grips extremely well.

They're great at removing stripped screws, as long the screw is sticking out a little bit. Also pretty good for prying nails out of wood, if the head of the nail is too small/bent for a cat's paw.

Just a heads-up - These pliers are only 7" and are very small, too small for general duty work.

I recommend at least 10" Knipex "Cobra" or "Alligator" slip joint pliers. As an electrician I personally prefer and use 12" Knipex slip joint pliers. I have a couple of pairs that I use for running conduit.

I hate recommending the Amazon Basics brand for anything, but they make a good knockoff version of these. They recently got me out of a jam with a stripped bolt. I also have a pair of Knipex pliers and they are great, but the pricing is ridiculous Knipex. I understand for a professional that does not want any compromises they will pay the hefty price, but for anyone else get a knockoff version.

As a light commercial electrician I use 7" more than any other size. I have a 12" pair non knipex that I use maybe 2 times a year

Yeah, both 7 inch cobra & pliers wrench are too similar in sizes. If id could only get 1 of each it will be 10 cobra & 7 pliers wrench. Any jobs that require bigger than pliers wrench cant handle the 10 cobra got it covered. Twin grip is more specialized tool when you need it you need it.

I'm with you on that and we will likely get negged for saying it. I absolutely love the Knipex tools I have and their quilty does surpass any off the more generics of the same design but but I just do not need everyday high performance out of set of pliers. I recently plumbed my whole house and I think only once did I really need the performance of the Knipex and 99.9% of the work was done with much cheaper name brand and even generic no name pliers and wrenches.

Much like a BMW will outperform Kia you have to ask yourself do you need the performance and have the budget to pay for it.. I got through 45 years of life without needing Knipex and have done all kinds of work and projects pretty much constantly. If I was a strictly a steamfitter I may have other thoughts.

I will say if you are going to get generics or a lower end name brand do make sure to get the cobra style ones as the design just works so much better than more traditional plier designs. Just that upgrade even if in lower end pliers will have most homeowners or DIYers thrilled with performance. I got a small set of Kobalt very low priced and they work great. I'm very glad the patent is up and we can get the performance of the design in other brands with maybe not the the quality of the steel but still in very acceptable and useful tools that perform much better than traditional plier designs,

I ordered this last time it was on sale, the same set and it was never delivered.
Amazon refunded me but I lost a chance to get the item with the sale.

And while I would not go so far as to say they are equal or the same, I would say they allowed me to do the same job and I feel like they are well made and a serious value being you get 5 tools and the tool insert for the same price.

I love them. They are my favorite length and grip combo. I use them for a lot of general work, including farm/ranch stuff. I also have the 7inch cobras, which I like, but I personally find them a little more nuanced and useful for specific wrenching jobs. I throw the twin grips at anything I need to grab....
