I have a similar looking one from JEMDO that works with the Nintendo switch 2 after a firmware update released by Hagibis.

Bought this to give it a try.

Update: This device could not be detected by the firmware updater and it does not work for my switch 2

Is the type c port on the HDMI side to charge your device like a steam deck? Sorry I'm confused by the product page.

Thanks. I thought so. I wasn't sure if there was any other use for it. But it seemed like it's just for charging

Doubtful. Switch 2 doesnt work with non-OEM docks.

Yes. You plug the USB C into the end where the HDMI is. The power goes back to the device

Original Switch (and probably Switch 2) have a proprietary USB-C connector, that's why so many were getting bricked when the original Switch came out. That's why you shouldn't use anything other then Switch docks and chargers.

Funny how Nintendo only does this, no other manufacturer has a problem adhering to the worldwide USB C standards that every other device producer can figure out.

*Clearly Nintendo is doing this on purpose, the EU even passed laws to prevent them (and Apple) from creating completely arbitrary standards forcing people to buy OEM accessories that were marked up 400-1000% over similar non branded items.

P.S. The Switch 1's port wasn't "proprietary," the software of the Switch decided to ignore certain (again arbitrary) voltages that were common among standard USB C devices so your other USB C devices wouldn't work. Complete money grab, no real world function for this gatekeeping,
