Yes. Seems something is not right given the price difference between secondipity website and their eBay store. I have bought from their eBay store and more comfortable with that.
I suspect that some of these headsets might not be good enough for 2 year warranty commitment. If half the customers don't figure the problem in 90 days or problem doesn't recur in 90 days, it will work out well for the seller.
It could also be that they are promoting their website but more difficult to see this as the reason.
I mean, the 2-year warranty does cost Secondipity money, so there's that...

Bro no offense your accident was not their fault, i am not a fan of secondipity but they are allowed to adhere to their rules. I also almost guarantee if you sent it in time they would still find a reason to deny your return!
Oh wow I wasn't aware this seller wasn't the best to work with in regards to returns. The more you know! For those wondering, my earbuds just stopped working a week after purchase and would not accept a recharge.

There are only five reviews, but they aren't good. Two mention a bad odor.

Xm4 the best bet? People seem to favor those over the newer models.
I have to disagree with this. I have multiple headphones of this series & have suffered the multiple issues that they have had:
  1. XM3 - The adjustable headband. They were known to crack & mine in fact did. Was able to find a replaceable part shipped from china that was overpriced which didn't work out that well. In the end they went in the trash. Like i said they were known to do this so it wasn't just me
  2. XM4 - over time they would develop this loud screeching issue & it was loud so it was painful when you were wearing them & this happened. The only way to get it to stop was to turn off noise cancelling. Like the XM3 this is a KNOWN issue. I have seen people try to fix it but in most cases it didn't work.
  3. XM5 - so far i haven't hit anything.
If you have any doubt the issues above weren't widespread then just google it. You will find lots.My XM4 didn't develop the screeching issue until i had bought the XM5. I have two pair of headphones. One for work & 1 for home. After the multiple issues with Sony Headphones i have decided to never purchase sony headphones anymore. I mean this is there top of the line headphones & having these MAJOR issues IMO is unforgiveable. I now have a pair of bose qc ultra. While not as comfortable on my head as the sony they have worked flawlessly.
But if i were to buy a pair of Sony XM series i definelty wouldn't be buying the XM4s

That's the point - they have run the same prices in both stores before, most notably on Black Friday last year.
Ahh yes. I need a pair of buds, just wait four months. You can hum a tune in the meantime. Good answer. Meanwhile I've been enjoying my $35 Linkbuds Fit for months now, bought from Secondipity, not via ebay. The "just wait for" adage makes very little sense. Not like you're shopping for appliances for a kitchen redo that's a half a year away. Or trying to outfit a vacation home or something else not overly time critical.
If you have a stockpile of buds that might be a different story.

I'm not telling you how to live your life. Do what you want. If you want to roll the dice on a 90-day warranty, get the deep discount from the website. If you don't, get the regular priced ones from eBay. But at that point in time, you may as well just get a new pair.
