2: The TCL 8 Series (QM8, QM8K, etc) are objectively better TV's than Samsung's Q90. They beat the Q90 in nearly every metric, even if they're only slightly better in some.

The price of this is bouncing up and down. I looked at this earlier this morning, $1097. This afternoon dropped back to $837. A few hours later is back to $1097. Pulled the trigger on this this afternoon when it dropped to $837. Seemed to be the best balance between size and picture with local dimming. I was debating between a 75" mini-LED vs this which are about the same price. The size difference between 85" and 75" does appear much bigger in person as my wife today shopping at Costco for the first time in her life said go with the big TV.
