I wouldn't put money into a switch1 at this point unless you really want to play ring fit adventure, which only works with the switch1

Like all things, comes down to your needs and disposable income. Don't have a lot to spend and don't care about the latest and greatest, get a S1 or even a used one. Like new stuff, like new games, have enough where you don't mind spending more? Get an S2. I don't know what it is with the Switch but people really seem triggered by video game spending. It's actually fascinating to read how mad people are at the S2 for not much of a reason.

I forgot to preorder it so I had a hard time finding it in stores. But just purchased it today from a local Walmart. It's not an exaggeration that it's back in stock pretty much everywhere. I think the initial novelty rush has died down because in my area (greater seattle) literally every store I checked, except Costco, has several in stock.

I would get the Switch 2 so you'll have the benefit of being able to play new releases and older games. In the near future, games will stop being released for Switch 1 to focus on Switch 2.

I would also want to play GameCube games on Switch Online Expansion. And you most likely would get to use Switch Online longer with Switch 2.

i just finished mario kart for switch 2. My hand hurts from playing it. I don't know if this is worth the price. i feel like it should be 300... 350 tops. 450 is too much for the hardware you get.

Is the hype passing? I have seen it in stock this week in multiple stores. I was planning to get one, but I'm not sure how to justify spending close to $550 on another console with only Nintendo games. - Maybe I will wait for more games in a year or so.
