There is NO tv that requires you to connect it to the internet to play an HDMI source. Sorry you're wrong and your narrative is shot. Better to leave this alone and go back to your day job.

Just add any streaming box you want and never use the Fire TV interface.

So don't connect it to your home internet. Use a Roku Apple TV etc 😂🤣. Not rocket science.

Woah, that's some discount. How is it so cheap? Any glaring issues? Looking to pick up a cheap second TV for movies and the odd gaming session

This is tempting. But already have 3 cheap 43" 4k tv (TCL/Pioneer), all good, no complains.Nowadays TVs are reliable - even cheap ones.

Brought 4 from the last time it was on sale for this price on Amazon. Solid TVs, all 4 working fine. Sold one at cost to a friend and has no issues.

I wish it were $20 more and didn't spy on me.

I have 2 of these with no issues, one is my PC monitor, great graphics with no lag even on fastest games.
Since these are made in Vietnam they will soon have a 20% tariff.

I got the Insignia 24" 1080p television last week. I have been pretty impressed with it so far. Not perfect but very solid for the very low price that I paid. Now I am tempted to get this but I really don't need another large television because I am still very happy with my old 1080p 46" Samsung television.

"How is it so cheap?"Because it's a smart TV. It requires an always-on internet connection. You have to agree to its (anti)privacy agreement -- which means it monitors EVERYTHING you do & watch -- both within the so-called Smart applications, as well as on other interfaces (HDMI, antenna). Why? So they can analyze it + resell your data. You are also probably entered into a forced arbitration agreement with Insignia (and Best Buy) -- good luck suing either of them. And you have no choice but to accept these terms if you want to use the TV for anything, even local-only disconnected usage. Repeat after me: "You are the product."And here's the thing -- it's impossible to buy a dumb TV anymore. Even the once "safe harbour" of digital signage TVs is no more...they too are requiring online activation and/or always-on connection (a massive headache for corporations that flat out refuse outbound connections for certain devices). The Tee-Vee isn't your friend. It's a vehicle to abuse your privacy, sell your data, and have you forcibly consume advertisements. All so you can watch some overpaid people play make-believe in stories that never seem to end properly before the networks cancel the series.
So don't connect it to your home internet. Use a Roku Apple TV etc 😂🤣. Not rocket science.

Does anyone have any experience with over the air antenna with Insignia fire television over the long run? I bought the 24" F20 1080p model last week and I like it but I wonder what happens when the television stops receiving software updates in the future. Planned obsolescence like an old fire tv stick? Old non-smart full HD televisions still working great and looking great for over decade or even +15 years. I am thinking the over the air fire tv guide will be shutdown. I think that I will have no channel information at all which in like 4-5 years and that is a pretty big con for me. With my non-smart Samsung televisions and Toshiba television, I always have channel information even though it is like a day guide.

And how do you get it to start up? You have to connect it initially in order to accept the EULA. Some TVs refuse to work without an always-on connection -- and at the $100 price point, I'd be this is one of them. But hey, enjoy your TeeVee that spies on you, by design.
