I don't think it had anything to do with the anti-virus. Various users are getting a targeted offer (I was one) for $50 off select Windows devices $500+. It's good for 24 hours-only once activated. You may or may not see a banner towards the top of the screen (on desktop browser, not mobile) that shows the offer.
The banner showed on my purchase page. I purchased on my phone just now.

How would you rate it against Samsung book 4 edge with snapdragon elite x??
The Samsung is way lighter.

Curious why you would want Lenovo to PM when you can just go to BB and get it (or get it shipped)? What's the advantage?
Mostly, because I am eligible for some educator/student discounts at Lenovo that were stacking with other deals in the past week. I was hoping I could get them to price match and then take another 10% off of that. Not sure if it would have worked but the educator/student discount was definitely stacking with the other codes they had in the past week or so.

Also, if all things are even I like buying from Lenovo and dealing with them directly for customer support. Take the middle man out...

May you talk more on how to remove the anti virus download to get $50 off?

Thanks.
I have no idea. I probably wasn't clear that I really didn't know what happened. It happened right when I removed the anti-virus and I had no idea why the offer popped up. I think someone else said it was a targeted thing? But, in the end, I got it for $549. So I will take it!

Interesting how the Core Ultra version of this went on sale for about the same price and everyone's going for the AMD version. The Core Ultra has a much lower TPU and almost ARM-like battery.

FYI, the display brightness is listed as 600 nits on Best Buy, but on Lenovo website it's listed as 400 nits (part numbers 83JR0002US, 83JR0001US).

I was able to get the same $50 off. I didn't have to remove the anti-virus. I used Chrome on my iPhone and got it first time. I went to login to check out and it disappeared. Tried to get it again but no luck so I switched to Safari and got it again. This time I checked out as guest and it went through. Thanks for sharing this tip, pretty happy with this deal at $549!

Link? Not sure if you're talking about the 14" Core Ultra Series 1 or the 16" Core Ultra Series 2 ($599)...

A $50 off a $500 on any Windows device banner popped up while I was browsing the product on Safari on my phone! It was an offer available for the next 24 hours. I had the laptop added to my cart prior to seeing the pop up.

Thanks Dr. W!

FWIW... I grabbed this laptop today. I bought online and went to pick it up and messed with the display one for a bit before grabbing mine. It really seems like a great laptop. The screen is great. If the battery life is decent this will be great machine. Also, when I was checking out I opted out of the free anti-virus download. At that moment in the checkout process when I removed that the price dropped another $50 to $549. Something also said something about a BestBuy discount but I was checking out as a guest so I really don't think it was specific to my situation. For $549? 2-in-1 with an OLED 600nit screen? 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD? the Ryzen Ai 5 processor (which outperforms some of the i7 and A7 chips? I think this laptop is a great deal. Not sure there is a better package out there for under $600.Also, this morning I tried to get Lenovo to price match and they would not. Identical machine (in fact, I could by from Lenovo and pick up at Best Buy!)...Their reason.... because the deal is different because Lenovo offers a free 3 month membership to XBox Ultimate and Best Buy only offers 1 month free. Literally the only difference so Lenovo denies price match because of that detail.
A $50 off $500 on any Windows device banner popped up for me too using chrome with my phone. Need to apply the offer in the cart once it is activated.
