So... apple on amazon puts out this rugged titanium which is supposedly different than natural titanium. However this rugged titanium doesn't even exist on the apple's main website. Why is that?
Also personal note, other than battery life and the battle with the Blood/Oxygen sensor patent, what else can they add to the watch? Ultra 1 to Ultra 2 wasn't a big change.

As much as I like my apple watch from 2019, people have to be out of their minds to drop $650 on a watch. Yes they are nice, but good golly thats a lot for a watch, almost as much as a phone ! How are people affording these things ?

It's not a watch for everybody, like a regular Apple Watch, this is aimed for deep water sports, hiking and the screen resist scratches, is not a Garmin but check those prices 🙃

Well I got mine as a gift. I didn't want to pay for it but have been wearing Apple Watches for a while but always seemed to scratch them pretty bad. With this one it has been scratch resistant which I love. I agree pricey but some people are willing to pay to pay for it.

It is for everyone. Just the battery life makes it a worthwhile upgrade. Unless you have very small wrists it's for everyone. Cellular is a worthwhile feature. Even if you don't activate it, the 911 feature works. At full price, it's $ 270 more than the aluminum with cellular. Think of it. $ 270 over the 5 plus years you have it, is nothing.

As someone who's had an Ultra 2 since fall 2023 I would wait. We are barely a month away from the probable refreshes and this is actually a worse watch than they released 2 years ago because of the disabled oxygen sensor. Amazon had these $70 off within a month of release almost 2 years ago so my guess is deals would be available for the Ultra 3 within a month or two of its release and maybe the 3 will have a work around for the oxygen sensor ban and at minimum it will have internals 2 generations better than the current Ultra 3. It'll probably be minor improvements but how many people would be jumping on a Series 9 that's only 20% off within a month of the Series 11 coming out because that's a similar equivalent right here. Also love the battery of the ultra and can't imagine going back to the regular Apple Watch so highly recommend overall.

One modifier if you want the orange ocean band this is probably a hell of a deal because who knows if that's coming back and it's unavailable from Apple separately and they go for $200 new on eBay and I haven't been able to find a cheap equivalent to that style.
