If you don't mind white this final sale for a new pair of Monitor Audio Gold 200s for this price is A LOT of value imo!
If you know MA Gold these are clean articulate detail sound with deeper bass.

A possible downside, you'll need clean solid power for optimal performance.
A one box(AVR) option isnt ideal in my experience.

Two 6.5"s are about equivalent to a single 8" in typical displacement but usually can not be tuned as low cleanly.
If you want deep bass get a subwoofer.

These should have good high output in the midbass provided you remove the lows for excursion and power handling.

MA is pretty okay in my limited experience but not really to my liking, I'd surely want to be able to return as an option but no returns on these

At the original price point there are so many options, even on sale lots of stuff @3500 or less. Hard choices. I know some really want the feeling of lux over pure performance , $6700 for smallish towers is indeed luxury pricing for this brand with some decent amount of the production money spent on extraneous things so expect diminished returns on $ outlay or even side grades to lower retail price points when comparing on performance metrics only.

Check out 'Arendal Sound' for some good beefy(and slimmer in the 1961) tower options and 'asciLab' for future options as their towers are not yet available, the bookshelf stuff is out now though.

I completely agree, return option is vital if you have never heard them.

Your suggestion with the Arendal's is a perfect example.
I'm not sure I know anyone that buys at MSRP but having heard both.

You would have to jump up in model over the 1961s for comparison to these, at this price good luck even with that in my experience.

These are listed at hitting 35hz, they easily do at average listening levels.
You would definitely need a sub with the 1961s to do that at the same level imo.

If you're worried about cost or diminished returns I would toss in the MA Silver's 7g OB( 200($1329(/300($1995) ) into the arena.
Throw in a sub, personally I'll take the Silver's any day.

TBH everything at this level is good, it comes down to which sound signature you prefer on which is the best for you.

I just mentioned the 1961 as the non beefy option.
I'd probably go with one of the 1723 tower sets for $3200 or $4000 respectively.
You'd pay MSRP for that brand unless buying a bstock/returned set.
Arendal has free shipping both ways, 10 year warranty and 60days in home trial so pretty legit.

These are $3500 new with full manufacturers warranty.

Having heard both they are two very different sound signatures.
For me hands down would take these over the 1723s at this price!

Suggestions if someone wanted to give the 1723s a shot.

Unless you have a large/open layout and or listen at higher than normal levels.
I would suggest the S version in white.

Black isn't that great looking(white slightly better imo) and weigh almost half as much.
No fun trying to return 100lb speakers either, even if it's free.

I would also look at their outlet, can save 10-20% that way.
