So this is at the very high end of my budget but i dont want to upgrade for three years. Is this worth it as a desktop replacement and occasional travel?

I'm on my second MS gaming laptop, just replaced my 22's Raider (RTX 3070ti) by this year's Titan. My old Raider still running like new, no issues at all, hope it will be the same with the new one... 🙂

Just got the same spec's Titan and I do expect not replacing it for next 3-4 years. It's a top notch spec and solid build, should last longer. Whereas travelling it's definitely not what it likes most... heavy, big and hungry, won't last much far from an outlet...

This hardware will last you a decade if you take good care of it. For example, repaste CPU thermal, remove dusts from fans, etc.

However if hardware failure occurred, it is pain in the but to get this repair.
