This seems like a pretty neat setup to add a moisture measuring device that can turn on the pump when your house plants need water and you're going to be away from home for a…. really long time, and since it's a fixed amount of water you dont have to worry about something connected to the faucet or tub failing and potentially flooding the house if a valve/relay gets stuck in the on position.
I use this for my coffee cart business and it works great. Just note that it takes water from both containers at the same time so you'll always have to fill up both containers (can't use just one at a time).

Well, I'm an electrician and my garage is my shop. So i fill my water bottles and cooler daily during the summer. Sure, I could bring cooler into the house everyday to fill it but that isn't so convenient.
