this is a lot of bits for a good price but it kind of drives me nuts, the bits get out of their places in the case somehow and I end up with a bunch of bits loose in there. Still a good value, but annoys the hell out of me.

Don't throw away the plastic liner that comes with it. I read about it on older posts and mine are fine with the plastic insert.

You are absolutely correct. The liner is meant to hold the bits in place.

I made a excel file to print for a template. It fits inside the lid perfect. I used a glue stick to glue it in the lid.
