cool idea but I tried one of these before and the weight of it kept pulling my mirror out of place and eventually when I hit a pothole the mirror ripped off the window. It took a thin layer of glass with it so ended up having to replace the window. I hit the pothole going pretty fast so can't fault the device 100% but it was still more trouble than it was worth constantly having to readjust my mirror because it was getting pulled out of place!

I really like these mirror dash cam since it get rids of blind spots, but it does have a bad glare during the day. At nights, all you just see headlights and nothing else. If you do get one, make sure it has the Sony Starvis2 sensors for night time recording and reducing glare. I have the 12" Wolfbox G900Pro 4K rear mirror dash cam installed on my car and love it. It is pricy, but you get a lot more features and it will last.

Before you go all-out with installing any brand of these kind of dashcams, do a test run at night with a temporary install. The older ones were horrible at night but they are definitely getting better. No Starvis 2 sensor is an automatic NO! And cheaper ones are usually terrible.
