These are fun, but pricey compared to other family-friendly affairs.

If you've never done one with your smaller kids, definitely should.

That said, Royal Caribbean has upped its game- The Oasis and Icon ships you can book for cheaper, and have way more to do if you're not a hardcore Disney fan.
And its private island (Perfect Day at Coco Cay) blow the Disney private islands out of the water.

No it will still cost you a kidney plus you have 3 kids you'd have to book a suite. Carnival is pretty much the only line that will let you book 5 in 1 cabin. But you wanna avoid all their 3/4 nights or any ship older than the Mardi Gras. Look up MSC is you want a great deal.
Probably Carnival is the only one that allows you to book 5 ONLINE. Some other cruise lines do allow 5 persons in some cabins but that cannot be done online. Also, MSC and Carnival are in the lower end among mainstream cruise lines. People don't compare them with Disney.

Been on Carnival 5 times and enjoyed it each time. Cruising is what you make it. Our last cruise on a new NCL Aqua was probably my least favorite but we still had a great time. Honestly cant wait for the Carnival Festivale bookings to open.

Make sure you book a newer boat, the older ones (ie the Magic) are old refurbs and the pictures don't match the experience. For instance, aerial shots make the pool look large because they painted the floor around it blue, reality was that it was about the size of a kiddie pool.
I even overheard Disney employees complaining about having to be on that boat after having been moved from the Wish, they were very upset with the food and how cramped everything is. Made me feel real good about the top dollar we paid.
And if you care about things like this, either bring along earplugs for your kids or avoid Pirate Night altogether, it's a very loud, packed nightclub-esque experience for the cruise director and his staff to dance around on stage like it's Groundhog Day, not very child friendly IMO.
Been on half a dozen Disney cruises on all the boats…..

Literally not a single word of what you said is true. I assume you had a bad experience on a boat once and now you're just lying to make yourself feel better. Stop

I would rather sail on a cheaper cruise and pay for what I use then pay a ton up front for a disney theme.

We just sailed the NCL twice this year with their more at sea so got 3 specialty dinners, alcohol, entertainment, child care, etc all included in the price. The shows were excellent. We have also enjoyed sailing on RC Icon, Utopia. Both great and Carnival Mardi Gras.

We have MSC World America booked next year for a family of 4, under 3500 for a balcony with drink package, one of the best floating water parks at sea. I'd probably rather take 2-3 week long cruises vs 1 single Disney one. A week long cruise on the Treasure during the same time is well over 10000 to compare for a balcony, and likely doesn't including any drink packages or extras such as that.(Selected wrong Week. Its actually over 12500 for the same week in March 2026 for a week long cruise on the treasure. Almost 4x the price)
It's not a cruise line for you… it's a cruise line for Disney. Meaning, you wanna take your kids to the Disney park or the cruise ship? Same cost. I assume you don't have kids so it's not worth the extra money for you. My 6 and 8 year olds love it and it's worth every penny because it's a Disney park on the water

I do have 2 kids 6 and 9.

Last time I went it was like 4000 for a week for 4, including tickets, food, and a Hotel 5 minutes from the park.

I could book a non disney cruise and take my kids to the park for a week cheaper than a single Disney Cruise.

Its overpriced. If its something you truly wish to blow your money on nobody is stopping you, but there are better more affordable options to have a great vacation on land and at sea and youll still have a great time.

If I put World America/Icon/Star/Utopia/Mardi Gras side by side against the treasure(or any disney ship) Im sure my boys pick one of those over a Disney ship everytime. lol

Straight up false. We went on DCL with 5 in our family and were able to have just one room that wasn't a suite.

So you booked a special cabin that's larger than a regular cabin.

It depends on when you cruise. Some dates are expensive on Disney but you can find good deals. We did one for a week last year at the end of summer for 3500 for 2 adults and one kid. That same cruise in the peak times of summer is 7500.
