They are great for putting over your computer monitor while streaming since it's just enough light. Not powerful enough for filming in a dark alley

I prefer this over the ring.

I have a handful of neewer products and they have not let me down. Only complaint I have is the instructions on some products were a bit confusing (one of them was pairing multiple speedlites to a trigger) . Other than that, I've been very satisfied with quality, features and pricing compared to other brands in the same field. They also have many sales throughout the year (November - December had the deepest discounts) and sometimes buying direct from site is cheaper.

Thank you! That's mainly what caught my interest was a streaming setup so I was curious what the preference was on that. Thanks again!

I've been using NEEWER accessories for my DSLR cameras and action cameras since 2017 and I've never been disappointed with over 20 of the various products I've purchased from them so far. The extended battery grip and Speedlite750 flash for my Nikon DSLR camera were my favorites costing 2/3 less than any "good" name brand versions yet they worked equally as well as any of those. Their products aren't quite as high quality feeling (obviously, for that price), but they are still solid enough and usually function equally as well for 1/2 the price of any big name brand version, so as long as you don't have unrealistic expectations then you'll probably be very happy with this light and most of their other stuff too.

Would this be good for simple video calls? My setup is not in the most ideal location for sunlight.

The built in battery might be a problem especially if it's a really bad quality one. A lot of these units use an external Sony type battery, but replacements for those can cost as much as this light does.

but the sony batteries can be different capacities, replaced easily while on the go, so if you need something with reliability, the sony add on is right regardless of cost. this is good if you want to just have one or two sources maybe and buy... three capturing the same price point as the add on sony.

The included tripod is not tall enough, unfortunately, to place this behind an open laptop for Zoom calls and such. If it could extend just a couple inches more, it'd be perfect. Otherwise you'd have to prop it up with something or buy a bigger tripod separately.

I use this Neewer light and its great!

This 9" version seems small to me to be used as a solo light.

Can't say I used that specific product, but I do actually use NEEWER's "BASICS LED Video Light, 2 Pack Studio Panel Key Lighting Kit with Tripod Stands & Filters" [amazon.com] for video content creation which I bought towards the end of Jan this year for $35. They offer a pretty good supplemental light source since the natural light at my house is substandard in order to pick up detail on camera.

It's ironic how the option w/o the tripod costs more than the option including the tripod after applying the discount code/voucher, lol...

I have Neewer 660s I use for photography and they are amazing. Not sure I'd use this model for that purpose but these are likely fine if you want to do Twitch streaming or do video conferencing a lot to make your video look way more professional.

Does anyone know if you can use the light while it is charging?
