If there is no difference besides the battery option, isn't better just to get the non battery option, set it an forget it for $8.70? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09234X...i_atc&th=1

That one requires battery too. There is a mechanical version but you'll have to set it each time.

Battery is needed to set schedules and such. On good ones, the batteries will last over a year. So it's not much of a hassle.

The one in your Link does require batteries. From the description

"ACCESSORIES: backflow valves sold separately, 2 AAA batteries required (not included)"

Also the photos show a clear LED and what to me at least is clearly a battery door on the face.

Thanks, missed that info, looks like all other similar options, there is leak issues and reliability.

They all eventually leak. Sometimes you get lucky and some of them in the lot lasts longer than the others. The worst part is most of them lock open instead of locking close when they fail. I'd stock up on the cheaper one. I bought the really expensive orbit ones they failed too. I avoid the ones with more than one outlet now so when they fail I can replace one zone at a time instead of one really expensive one because one side works and the other doesn't. I got lucky and stocked up on 30 units on the ace hardware clearance. Should have bought more.
