i bought these shorts when they were on sale for $5. theyre not a bad style if you dont mind elastic waists. my problem is they are not made very well. after a few wears, the waist seam started to come apart. so, you get what you pay for, i suppose.

These are a drawstring waist with stretch. I purchased one pair a few weeks ago and have been wearing them a lot and they're comfortable. I picked up a few more. Better than the ones I've been trying at Costco lately, but not sure how well they'll hold up.

Amazon deals get the bump because they get affiliate money on the entire order, not just this single item. Even if you don't order this junk, if you place any other order in the same instance they get paid, which is very likely with Amazon.

Yeah. Just seems so odd that some deals get thumbs up of crap quality products/ and poor comments here. And immediately go front page.

Maybe we aren't a community anymore.

I get the referral money, but it doesn't need to be on shorts that fall apart. It could be something better or by an actual brand.
