No idea about the Dewalt batteries as I have Craftsman, but the suction is decent for the size. Nowhere near a shopvac/wetdry vac but its a lot smaller and fir a different purpose.

Think of it like a little hand held kitchen vacuum but with the removable battery, that's essential what this is.

I use mine for cleaning up messes on the work bench, small messes on a car seat, small amounts of dirt in the garage or outside. It works well for those purposes.
