Seems expensive. <$3 a pound at my local Costco for organic chia seeds.

Actually just received this. The foil was clearly previously opened and then glued back shut. My guess is they filled it with cheaper or expired product. Amazon's QC has been turning to crap lately. It used to only be skin care products id experience this with.

$8.59 at my local Costco for 3lbs. Works out to $0.24/oz whereas this is $0.34/oz. Not a good deal at all when Costco is 41% cheaper.

These used to be a good deal but they switched from the 2lb size to a 20oz size. I was disappointed when I got the last container and it looked like a baby version of the old one.

How do you consume these? I don't really eat yogurt or make smoothies. Is that taste noticeable if I mix some into ice cream recipes for ninja creami?

Soak in water, then drink. Makes poops buttery smooth

You can do chia pudding, just beware its a love it or hate it kinda thing. I feel like you'd notice them in an ice cream. I'd compare them to poppy seeds, so the texture you'll notice in almost anything.

I usually make pudding. 1 container of protein shake plus 3 tbsp of chia seeds. Mix several times over 10 minutes then put in fridge. I usually leave overnight.

I'll be used premier and fairlife and fairlife chocolate is the best tasting version. Tastes just like chocolate pudding of course with a different texture.

I also put chia on salads or sandwiches where the crunch isn't noticeable. I actually have what's basically a salt shaker with larger holes with chia in it I can dash onto food.

whatever you do make sure to hydrate them first, don't just raw dog chia seeds they can get stuck in your throat.

2 tablespoons chia seeds, squeeze one fresh lime, into a large sports bottle, fill with water, stir. Then put in refrigerator for a few hours. Drink with large straw. One per day. Also helps if you are trying to lose weight, because it will fill you up for a couple hours, and has very few calories.

I add some to my yogurt. Throw in some flaxseed and honey to add more fiber, protein, fat and some sweetness for a healthy breakfast.

Put a scoop in the morning coffee. Just note that it can tone down bold coffee.

These won't be good in ice cream. They don't soften as sesame seeds, for example. When hydrated, they develop gooey sort of "coat", which makes them delicious in pudding and a fun addition to beverages. They can be used in baked goods like muffins (in the batter, not for sprinkling on top). Could be added to salad dressings too.

They do need some degree of hydration though, as others noted. Otherwise they're pretty hard and get stuck in your teeth a lot.

They're an acquired taste though, I'd recommend trying a smaller package before committing to large quantity. Lidl and ALDI have them occasionally.
