Any time you see LPDDR for the RAM type it will be soldered.

You're absolutely correct and that's a dealbreaker for me, otherwise it's a solid laptop and deal. This model, the non-touch / not 2-in-1 version is B6NF3UA#ABA whereas the touch versions are B88A7UA#ABA or B5KN3AV_1 (from HP's website).

While a different form factor, this is pretty comparable to the cheap mini/NUC PC's from a more reputable company.

Hmm, did I make a mistake returning the Acer to Costco, it was similar specs but had touchscreen. It was 300 nit, usually touchscreen are dim.
It was also 14" but high res.

$499 + Tax on $699 with 2 yrs warranty.

Sorry for the typo, but yes, that one is smaller but high res display, however I am more concerned about the processor power. In the screenshot above with comparison it says Intel Core 5 is for more complicated/powerful needs vs this AI 5 340 is "everyday". So did I screw myself by returning the $555 (out the door price) on the Acer 14" Intel with Touchscreen?

I got this a bit ago for $398 from HP with $50 back on my chase card and then another 15% CB from a website. I felt like it was worth it at that price. The two things I wish were better was a bigger battery, the 58 mah is more of a 14" laptop size battery, and then a 100% rgb screen but I am not complaining for about $300 all in.

I put in an order, then it was cancelled the next day saying they needed more information, but no instructions on how to provide the additional information. I called their main customer service line who transferred me to a "specialist". They said their security system wasn't able to "verify the order" so it was cancelled. I verified all of the information they asked me for, then she put me on hold and came back saying "We're sorry, the system still can't verify the order". She didn't give an explanation "for security reasons" and said there was nothing else she could do for me. I have excellent credit and no red flags about my information or the order that would indicate fraud, so I don't know what the deal is. I went ahead and ordered from Dell instead. I'm sure their fraud system is saving them lots of money, but they're also losing money on perfectly legit orders too!
