While I am disappointed in the cpu I just couldn't pass this up. Here are a couple of deals that popped up recently that are comparable but also had issues:

https://slickdeals.net/f/18433702-15-6-msi-thin-laptop-144hz-1080p-ryzen-5-7535hs-rtx-4060-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-2025-649-free-shipping

Reading the thread this laptop was severely underpowered.

https://slickdeals.net/f/18479773-lenovo-loq-15-6-fhd-144hz-i5-13450hx-rtx-4060-16gb-ddr5-512gb-ssd-699-99

This was a great deal with a better cpu but +$50 and Lenovo.

https://slickdeals.net/f/18457579-hp-victus-15-6-fhd-144hz-i5-13420h-rtx-3050-6gb-8gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-499-99

The cheapest gaming laptop available but with obvious compromises.

Overall this is a great deal. I've had good experiences with Asus and the 4060 is definitely a step up. The cpu while slightly inferior is still a solid chip.

Yes and two RAM slots as well. It also has a MUX switch for the video output, which is awesome at this price point. Wish it had a better CPU, but otherwise an amazing deal.

TUF has Mux, 90wh vs 70wh, a 100%rgb vs 62.5%rgb, and a 4060. Asus TUF has arguably better overall build quality and better thermal cooling. This is a solid deal if you're in the market. I haven't seen anything (gaming laptop especially) get this much hype in quite some time.
Thanks for clarification. I picked this up and an open box excellent hp for about 100.00 less. Current laptop is a Msi 63 or 65 thin with a 10th gen intel i7 and 1660ti I don't game as much on it so I'm kinda leaning toward more of the processor speed vs the cpu speed. I was wondering if the mux thing was an asus thing or something available on all 40xx series laptops

Very tempting to pick up, and my local Staples has it. I have a Lenovo w/ the same CPU but a 3050 6GB and dual NVME slots.

Mine (Order placed: August 03, 2025 at 10:56 AM) was supposed to arrive yesterday (Aug 5), but I got a notice last night that it was delayed, and then I got a tracking number for the first time. Checking that today, I see this:Last scan: Aug 06, 1:20 PM[my city]-OHUnable to Locate: Package is MissingAug 06, 5:26 AM[my city]-OHUnable to Locate: Package is MissingAug 06, 3:27 AM[my city]-OHOrder Received
Did it end up arriving? See the same "Unable to locate" message on my tracking

This looks like a solid deal, anyone use this for just school and some youtube watching? Or is it over kill?

I like that it still has a bunch of usb ports, vs newer laptops with like 2 usb-c ports.

Ordered one and had it shipped to my local staples. (shipped it to the store because ups held my lenovo laptop hostage with signature only would not even allow me to pick it up). Just picked it up this laptop from staple looking forward to benchmarking it tonight. Smh i have 3 laptops at the house and have to decide in 10 days witch one i am going to keep because of return policies

How much of a bottleneck is the processor for 1080p gaming? Been shopping around and that is my only concern with this one. Found it nearby and was going to pick it up.

General use is claimed 12%. GPU intensive tasks - like gaming, ~8% estimated. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much if it were me.

I ordered it Monday, delivered Tuesday, A+ on speed though their tracking system isn't great
Installed a 2TB SSD and swapped in 32GB RAM all from Amazon
I like it, very responsive, good cooling.
Only cons are the desktop icons disappear after waking up from sleep, likely missing some files and on startup with my two monitors via hub it one screen turns on while the other is off then it switches briefly which is a minor annoyance as my Lenovo Legion didn't have those issues
