Ordered these a few weeks ago. They work, but both of mine fell off when the garbage truck arm dumped the trash out. If you can, secure it with zip ties rather than relying on their adhesive

Drill hole through lid and this
Washer-nuts-bolt
is what I ended up doing

I don't feel like they did too much to cut down on the flies, unlike their liquid ant bait that does what it says it will

The garbage thing works for me. I did also use a strip of duct tape to keep it stuck to the lid of the trash barrel.

I got these a few months ago. We have a dog and cat and the poop bags bring lots of flies. I installed these with a bolt and nut to side of trash bins. I saw no noticable difference in the number of flies. They are still in abundance.

You're supposed to put it on the inside of the can, not on the outside.

With a lid on the can? Need a decent lid to keep the vapor in. And really should prevent new flies from hanging around, it should kill larvae on the flies that do get in and lay.

Yes, in my experience it does not 100% prevent flies, but stops them from breeding / kills the larvae.
