IMO if you're using this for work (which I assume most will be doing), 60hz is fine for a monitor.

modern gaming consoles and computers are capable of running at higher refresh rates. All mainstream TV and movies run and stream at 60Hz, that's why that refresh rate is better for televisions.
Like seeing the difference between using a 120Hz phone and a 60Hz one. The smoothness feels like a generational leap in performance.

for crt, yes. for lcd, no. different tech now.
60hz for old crt means the screen "on" 60 times in a second. that means u will see more dark screen than actual light scene, and feeling flickering.
60hz for lcd means the screen "off" 60 times in a second. U will actually see more light scene than dark, so no flickering for most people (only a handful of people can see the flickering with sensitive super vision)
so, for lcd monitor, 60hz is comfortable for working (not for gaming for sure).
not good for tv though, since it is mostly motion on tv, higher refresh rate is better just like gaming.

I have wanted this since it was announced, even though it is VA.

TLDR; Samsung finally released an IPS + Speakers variant in this in their 32" model so there is a CHANCE we will see a IPS + Speakers variant of this 37" soon enough for those who can wait.

What's holding me back is I purchased the 2024 32" S80UD VA USB-C that came out and figured that would be it for their offerings. Low and behold, they finally come out with the first 4K 32" IPS Viewfinity USB-C they ever made. Even better is they made two new models: one IPS and one IPS with speakers. So now they literally have 3 different versions of the 32" S80UD USB-C (VA, IPS, IPS w/ speakers).

I do wish it had speakers like the 32", but this is a great deal anyway. I had actually purchased this on the Samsung EPP site 5 days ago, at $386, but I received a price match through their support chat. the Agent refunded me the full EPP discount of $170 instead of the price difference of $86, so out the door I paid 216 for mine

Have you received it yet? Thoughts?I have the 32 VA so I know what I'm getting, but I'm really contemplating doing two of these side by side.I work from home in IT and I have a decent size basement area to work with. The only reason I'm interested is because this is essentially a new segment of sizes. I currently use a 43 4k with a 27 4k to the side. I think two like sized monitors next to each other mentally incentivizes more use of the space.

Like you I have a 43" 4k and a 40" ultrawide. It's all just too big and the Ppi on the 43" isn't ideal. Curious about the 37" now

Uuuuhhhhh... What do you think they edit those "TV shows" and "movies" on?! There are Canon 60 Hz monitors that sell for more than the cost of a car. Horses for courses. That is a weird post, sir.
