Make sure to save your receipt. I've broken 3 of these over the past 10+ years. Always sheared at the drive-end.

They made you show a receipt to get a replacement? I've only done a couple exchanges for broken tools, but I've never had to show a receipt.

You'll have no problem changing a flat with this breaker bar and a deep socket. It works way better on corroded lug nuts than a standard lug wrench.

Firstly, give them your phone number and it saves every purchase to your account. No need to hang onto receipts.

Secondly, Ive only had to replace two HF tools and neither time did they ask for a receipt. Walked up with the broken tool and new tool in my hands, they take the broken tool, and say have a nice day. There wasnt even paperwork.

Good thing to keep in the car, as sometimes the lug nuts are too tight for the little tool the auto manufacturer gives you.

You also need this to remove the Anode in your hot water tank to keep it from rusting out.

No receipt needed to exchange at HF. Just your phone number.

came to the comments to say the exact same thing.. (3 of them)
I had one where the tensioner in the head broke and now the whole head is loosey goosey.
Ive had one where the head has completely frozen into place wont adjust at all.
I had one snap at the head.
(granted the one where the head was frozen / corroded in place was because it is in my shed for years unattended) However, I have 3 toolboxes in there with other junk tools they have not given me any trouble ..

You guys are nuts. I don't know how you are breaking these. I recently put over 1000 lbs of torque on one (my weight leveraged by over 6 feet). I had two pipe extensions. It was so much weight that I bent the brass pipe I used as the first extender.

Harbor Freight, their products' QC is questionable. You'd never know if you get lucky to have a less quality one. It's not a myth if you break a break bar.

I just use my M18 impact, so much easier and safer.

Had a F250 with several lugs seized... did the 2ft breaker bar plus pipe... bounced my weight on it, nothing.

Used the impact wrench.... bump bump bump...zzzzzzzzzZZZZZ! off it came

don't worry..used torque wrench to tighten nuts 165ft/lb

Can confirm failure. Probably good to about 300 ft-lbs. Use the 3/4" breaker bar for +500 ft-lbs torque,.

that sounds more like torque wenches and ratcheting wrenches rather than a breaker bar.
