I got mine last week. I had a 12 year old 60" Panasonic plasma prior, so this was a big jump up for me. I'm really impressed with the picture quality and have been using it in filmmaker mode. I don't use Web OS since I have an Apple TV 4K. For anyone else thinking of using one with the TV, it fits perfectly in the little input area in the back. Thanks for spotting the deal OP!

I picked this TV up the last time it was this price and it's absolutely fantastic for this price. You honestly can't do better.

Awesome price, but check your zip code with LG Partners. They still have it for $1620 in some areas

I'm in the same boat. From everything I've read it seems that the only difference is brightness. Literally the only difference. Everything else is exactly the same. Apparently down to the processor (only applies to the 83"). The 83" has the same A9 chip as the C4 line, whereas the rest of the B4 line gets the A8. So with that said, I might bite on this since the room it's going in is not particularly bright.

You nailed it, this is exactly what rtings.com's review confirmed.

Exactly! The B4 83 inch is secretly a C4 with a modest brightness nerf, making it the undisputed OLED best value choice. I posted that $1620 deal a few months back and did a good amount of research and in person comparison - can't tell the difference between the 83B4 and C4 unless side by side. The 83 B5 uses the regular B series processing, so no more free upgrade. Also, American Express might still have that 4% cash back on LG offer.

I use TVs as my monitors and I'm still rocking an older LG OLED and the burn it is for real (but expected). Having to switch to a QLED for the next one but will miss deals like this.

This is all what I thought too, so I pulled the trigger on the B4. What (almost) nobody tells you is that the B4 has a matte screen. My old 8 year old OLED C7 model has a glossy screen and you get those beautiful deep inky blacks. The matte screen on the B4 is seriously disappointing. Any ambient light in the room is smoothed out by the matte screen so all you get is hazy grey. Only at night, say around 6-7pm and later, the picture is beautiful, and when it gets really dark, you get those inky blacks.
My errant thought was the B4 might not be bright enough for my living room. No, it's plenty bright enough. But the matte screen ruins the black levels. I can't stress this enough. With the TV powered off, the screen should be all black. My old C7 with a glossy screen is all black. Instead, the B4, even the 83" model, has a matte screen that never gets you true black during the day, just hazy dark grey.
I really really wanted to love my B4, and with the Capital One rewards, it's a steal, but it's so hard to keep this one.
If you've never had OLED, maybe you'll be fine with this one. But if you've had an OLED with a glossy screen, it's a real let down.

I couldn't fit the 98 inch tcl in my basement unfortunately..this might have to do. unless I go projector.

I had a Sony 75850E for 6 years and I wasn't happy with it being side lit and the blacks were always grey and washed out. I was going to go with a projector but did hours of research and bought this OLED 4 months ago and couldn't be happier. The 83" version has all the hardware of a C4 so you are basically buying a C vs B series with $ savings.

My only issue, we have a LG 4k Blu-ray player that the TV randomly switches to it. I'll figure it out next rainy weekend. We watch this in a basement theater room so I can't answer how it does in a well lit windowed room but it's amazing with all the lights off. The OLED is truly BLACK where there isn't any video on the screen, makes letterbox viewing amazing

Thankfully my 83 B4 is my first OLED. I love the black and thankful I have nothing to compare it to. In 5 years I'll make sure to look for the gloss screen in my options

I bought Samsung qn90d 85" when it was on epp sale last month for -1200. Going to be delivered next week. Now contemplating if it's really worth to spend additional 500 for this. Which means I'll get Costco 5 years warranty and an oled. Please advise if anyone have inputs

I have this behind my 120 projector screen for everyday programs(non movies) and the projector wins everytime, makes the 83 look like a 65 in comparison

I got it a few weeks back for $2000, price adjustment time! 😁 Hopefully, lol.

I also got it for 1999 two weeks back. But it still shows the 1999 price to me in the costco app. Is it YMMV?

Edit: My Bad. I could see the price difference in the cart. thanks
