Here's my review: Been using them since late 2021 (4 years) They're excellent. They're a soft fabric material, like most other wristpads. Semi-firm foam instead of waterbed-style gel. The slim models are nice with thinner keyboards, like the ones Apple offers. The full thickness are great with the current trend of mechanical keyboards.
If the bottom gets a little dusty, hit it with a damp rag and BAM...it gets grippy again. Same goes for the top fabric -- if it's dirty in your environment, consider replacing the dust filter in your HVAC system.
No fraying, no weird smells, etc. I don't know where this guy puts his hands if they stink that bad, buy some Softsoap! Comes in all scents, like Cherry and Pretentious Influencer.
Are they worth $20 each? I...uh...hmmm.....that's a hand-wringer. I've absolutely used worse ones (which fell apart after a few years) -- they were about half the cost of the normal Glorious msrp. So at $20+, kinda yes it's worth it? Buy once cry once? But for $10-12 each? Sure. Instant buy. No brainer. In fact, I bought a couple of extra ones -- a few gifts for family members and whatnot.
There -- you got a real review over SEVERAL years. Happy customer, paid with my own money. No loud techosynthambient-wave soundtrack. No out of focus lenses. No wistfully watching the snow fall onto his neighbor's roof (creepy).
Usually beginners have a lot of umms, ahhs, rustling, and dead air -- usually I need to speed up the video to 1.5x just to tolerate their poor scripting. All the while they're using an old original "xbox" microphone that both sounds 20 feet away in a untreated room and being halfway down their throat, simultaneously.
(protip for budding content creators -- people will easily forgive lousy video, but they won't forgive even slightly mediocre audio. This has been proven time and time again, by "official studies" under the title of "No duh, Sherlock." If you have a $100 budget, spend $5 on a used 720p webcam and borrow against next week's food budget to spend $150 on a mic & treatment.)
But even then, in the business world, we have a phrase for even his video: "it was a meeting when it should've been an email".
