I'm tempted to get this just for the multi color/material even though the Elegoo Centauri Carbon has been a real champ so far.

Multi-color printing is supposed to come to the carbon in Q3. No news beyond that as far as I know, but its on the CC product page.

Really like the AD5 Series... I wouldn't say it's the best print quality but it's not bad. Started with the AD5m and then bought the AD5m pro, sold the AD5m to get the AD5x. I watched video before trying so I had advanced notice it would be bad but multi-color printing wastes a lot of filament and prints take longer due to the filament changes. I almost feel this one might be the winner on the amount that it purges... seems to me that it's way too much. Prints look pretty good and happy with the result based on price of the unit. All of the AD5 series seem to be pretty good for the cost.

Good price on this listing... forget what I paid but think it might had been around $370 as well as the other poster noted.

I hope they announce it soon along with pricing. Tempted to upgrade from my A1 to either X1C or Centari Carbon with AMS. I will say its hard to leave the Bambu ecosystem as the app just makes quick prints so much easier. All these printers are lacking the ecosystem with models all built for quick print from the app. I slice files all the time as well but for quick and dirty prints, its great to just tell it to go from my phone.

Is this a good buy for someone looking to buy their first 3D printer? Not too complicated?

I'd say so, esp at this price. But if you want easy, the bambu labs a1 and a1 mini are very easy though if you're really worried. It's just they cost more and this has multi color/material out of the box

If you just want to experiment with 3d printing, the Adventurer 5M for $173 might be a better starting place. The multicolor system on this one is going to be an added complication (though is really useful.)

$173 is a steal for the AD5M!

Yeah, I just hope they price it well just like they did w/ the CC. I'll wait for the pricing on the Elegoo system before I even think of getting a second printer.

I'll take the near-silent A1 in my office any day over the dB that come off a CC.

I'd like to get my first 3D printer and have been watching the FlashForge pricing for a few months. I'm not in a big hurry, so I might just wait and see what happens around the Black Friday time frame. I keep flip flopping between the Adventurer 5M, and this one. Price is definitely going to be a factor. Decisions...decisions!
