Creative is not a known brand, eh? As for them being wired, they have better sound quality than the vast majority of over-ear Bluetooth cans, for sure. For those that are not randomly hating with misinformation, these are pretty good closed back cans, and are great at this price.

these headphones were quite popular back in the day as they are a rebadged version of the denon d1001.

MSRP was $100 for them or ~$70 during good sales.

Creative is/was a well known company in the world of PC audio. Maybe they were before your time or you weren't into PC audio. shrug

i'm considering picking up a pair for nostalgia sake since I don't know where I stored my old ones. lol

I bet 50% of us OG slickdealers had creative soundcards in our first home built PCs.

Absolutely, this is famous Foster made Denon cans rebadged by famous Creative as famous CAL! I still have original one bought who knows how many years ago - I remember I just added some little sound damping Polyfill material inside cans and replaced cable with high grade one. This one is second gen - SE (Second or Special Edition?) which tuned little different with more bass I guess. But i prefer original classic tuning. But I guess some are too young to know about Creative and CAL! and maybe even Denon! shake head I remember that time - these HPs where big deal when Costco started selling them for 50.
realistically as $50-100 headphones back then are basically $100-200+ today. so this deal is ridiculous.

I have DT 1990 pros I'm satisfied with and have been for probably a decade? and I'm deciding if I should get these just because they're basically free.

I decided to get these since they are basically as cheap or cheaper than a pair of cheap iems. I think that they are very good for this price and if you want a cheap iem like experience, but don't like iems, or want to give inside of your ears a break from prolonged iem usage.

I feel like at this price, even if they break after 2 years, I'd still be happy with them. The headband can be a little hard feeling (at least to me).

The Creative Aurvana Live! SE is slightly better tuned version of the Creative Aurvana Live! which was basically a Denon D1001. The drivers used in these 3 headphones are exactly the same type (Foster 399317).
These were made by Foster and use the well known Foster bio-cellulose 40mm drivers. It comes in a black version and has a glossy 'flake paint' finish on the cups.
When these came out (around 2019) the MSRP was around $ 100.- but end 2022 it is still being sold for $ 50.- (€ 60 in E.U.).
It is a re-launch of the popular original Creative Aurvana Live! (2011) with a different color scheme.

It's ok. Not super tight but not super loose either in my opinion. My head is fairly small to average sized. The cushion on the top though felt a bit hard, so I might get a head band cushion or something.
Ok, giving it a shot. Thanks

I love the msrp prices on woot. They probably go out of their way to find the highest and the most unreasonable price to make the sale price look like a deal. This is not a known brand and it's wired. Why in the world would anyone pay 60 to get this new?

I had never heard of these before so I took a chance. I'm REALLY impressed. Tremendous value at this price point. Build quality is nothing to write home about but better than I expected. I'm not crazy about the glossy look but it's not a dealbreaker. The earcups aren't very large so they are borderline on-ear if you have larger ears. I just can't believe the sound coming from something I paid only $15 for. I'm in for another, maybe two for my kids.

Received mine, earcups are too small and tight even for my small ears. Sound is warm, clean and natural. Cable is not excessively long (good). No extension cord and/or 1/4 adapter included.

just received my pair earlier today testing them out as i type this.when i first started playing music they had a little bit of brightness that i didn't like but the longer i play them they're getting a nice clean balanced sound overall enjoying the sound signature.i have to turn the volume up 10% more compared to my Sennheiser headphones to hear the detail of the music easily.i'm guessing because these probably have smaller drivers.the ear cups are on the small side my ears are slightly larger than normal and these lay on the ear not around it.the head band doesn't bother me but i'm sensitive to clamping force and the clamping is not comfortable tho they're some what tolerable for about a hr. before i need to give my ears a break from it.these are my opinions on a straight out the box quick review.

Just got them and playing some .flax files through my old ipod w/ rockbox. They sound great and I am sure after some more time breaking them in they will be better. They have a nice warmth to them compared to a lot of mid range over ears. You can't beat that for 15$. I can see myself using them as a secondary set of headphones for mastering music. If you want the most bang for your buck buy a pair of IEMs like the KZ Zero or castor bass. I think this is as good as it gets for the money!

Finally received mine. The manufacture date on them is 2018. They must have made a lot of these.

according to pockyG 4 years ago:

They use the same diaphragm material as the much more expensive Fostex TH series headphones.

Finally got mine today. This has to be one of the best deals I've ever gotten on SD. Great bassy sound and pretty comfortable too. considering getting a second pair.

Mine comes with only little bass. The profile is too bright (sharp) which I personally dislike.
