A review on Amazon claims it is compatible with Frigate but I have no personal experience with this specific camera. I do have another TP Link camera running great through Frigate/Home Assistant. I have it on a dead WiFi (no internet) connected to my security camera VLAN (also dead) that my HAOS server has access to pull feeds from.
I think any non-battery TP Link camera is supposed to support RTSP/ONVIF.

I do agree the 1080p is meh but it has it's value for those running on lower bandwidth and just want something for something. I have their old PTZ indoor (the white ones) and it has always worked. No connection issues, no lag and the app is very slick in one touch to view all the cameras live at once. I like that. I replaced with the 2k (black ones) and the image is miles better.
I do wish they would make POE cameras though I do understand Tapo is consumer grade stuff. I have $2,200 worth of Reolink POE/wifi cameras that's I'm ditching because Eufy came out with their POE system and the wife like the Eufy interface a lot more so I'm selling all the Reolink now to replace with Eufy but if Tapo came out with POE, I might go with them. Their cameras are very sleek looking and the come in BLACK! I have black soffits and the wife would like the cameras to "blend in better" than sticking out like a sore thumb with them white ones. I am not sure how she'll feel about the Eufy but some places make black boots to cover the cameras to make it blend in better.
