Nope. The Sirui SQ75 Heavy-Duty Carbon Fiber Rapid-System Tripod with VHS10 Head was only $299 in January.

The Sirui SVS75 is a completely different tripod than the Sirui SQ75. I understand the confusion though since OP didn't include any photos in this post.

Retail price of the SVS75 according to Sirui's website is $999 while retail price of the SQ75 is $524. The SVS75 seems to be much sturdier (and heavier) than the SQ75 and also has a much beefier fluid head.

I've been trying to decide what rapid system tripod to get between the Sirui SVS75, YC Onion Pineta Peak, and the Leofoto LVF-163C+FH-10. Given that this is the lowest that the SVS75 has ever been, I pulled the trigger on it.

I just shot a short with a lot of set-ups on my heavy Manfrotto 117B Legs with MVH500ah Head and had such an annoying time getting it level that I spent this week looking into legs with a bowl. The legs on this were high on the list because people say it gets very close to the Sachtler Flow Techs, but my C70 doesn't hit the minimum weight for the head's counterbalance even when fully kitted with monitor, transmitter, follow focus and my heaviest lens.

The legs are ~$400 by themselves new, so I was looking at other used options and found a Miller Air system for ~450 that should be an improvement in weight and a head that should work with the c70's weight and be an improvement over the MVH500ah. So I ordered that yesterday. But at $500, I've now ordered this set as well. My guess is I'll pair the Air's head with the Sirui's legs and sell everything else.

Almost nobody has a camcorder or camera anymore that justifies the added weight and price. I really think that the earlier Sirui deal was much better and actually ergonomically superior.
