This or the Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer Box? The Space Pi is currently $47 for me on AliEx, wondering if it is worth the extra $17.00. The drying temps are similar.

I've had this for a few months and it works well. Only one I've used so can't compare, but it is quite loud, to the point where you don't want to be in the same room as it.

I'm wondering the same thing and eagerly waiting an experienced answer.

Thanks, if it works well that's good enough for me. It'll be in my garage w/ the printer and loudness doesn't matter in there.

I have one of each. The Space pie touch pad is not the best. The dial control on Dryer box 2.0 is not great either. You can learn either one, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The space pie is a bit better for easy loading the spools. Both can be improved by making a filament exit fitting. Look on maker world for the fittings.

I have the space pi one but nothing else so I can't say how good it is in comparison.. But I remember finding this one site where the dude compared the amount of moisture the dryers were able to evaporate or whatever, after a certain amount of time. The Space Pi one was one of the hottest ones and ofc pulled the most moisture out too.

Lol I remember the site being pretty legit too because of of how basic and plain looking it was with no ads.. Unfortunately I can't find the website for the life of me.

But to prevent sounding like a shill, I can talk shit about the space pi one.. The touchscreen is pretty abysmal. Takes like 2 seconds each touch you do lol. But I'm use to it, my a1 bambu mini is just as annoying.

how does the moisture leave the inside of the container? I get that it heats up, but then what? Images show the air just recircs.

You're supposed to pop the lid once in a while.

For me, even the wettest pla took 3 purges and it was done.

I got one to try out. I dont really need more that one spool to dry. I just need one to dry while also printing. Unfortunately the ams2 does not dry while printing.

What do you mean by "purge"? Lifting the top 3 times or 3 whole drying cycles?

Oh, that's what those little silicone plugs are for on your dryer box! When you're drying your filament, you leave the plugs open to let the moisture out. When you store your filament, close the plugs to keep the interior dry

I don't use my dryers that way. I print at the same time the dryer is running. My PTFE tube exits where the rubber grommet is. If you want to purge moisture, there are lid props that you can print.
