For anyone not aware, these aren't cheap junk you'd see at mall kiosks. They're made very very well and worth the price if you're interested in what they do.

I've asked before on a similar product. Can you load Pokémon Red and Blue and link it to a similar device and trade Pokémons?

Mine arrived yesterday from the previous deal. Same seller. After 15 minutes, the screen/display went bad. Waiting for seller to respond.

That's pretty crazy with only 15-minute use. I received my 40XX H (grey) from the same seller last week. Only played a few hours so far and upgraded SD card with Stock OS Modification. Now I really need to test/use it more within the 90-day return window.

Yeah I'm hoping I just got unlucky and received a dud. Really want to like this unit. Played Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast that was included on the SD card and it was smooth.

Seller accepted to refund with free return shipping. Manufacturer wanted me to open the case and plug/unplug the screen cable.

I'm placing an order for another one with this deal and hoping I get a better unit.

Are these "plug-and-play" experiences? Like you buy, put roms in SD card, insert, and play? Or does it require hours of configuration and installation before you can play?

I already have an "Android" handheld device where I have to install/configure a bunch before I can even play. Looking for a more dumb down, do-nothing, just plug-and-play experience.

They are plug-and-play, but in order to get a better experience you will want to replace the included junk SD cards with name brand cards and replace the OS and included ROMs, which requires configuration. Easy to follow instructions are available on the web. I went with Garlic OS, and while it did take a lot of time to get everything organized and with nice box art added, for me it was worth it and I never had to mess with anything since then. The model I have doesn't have wireless functionality, so there's no updates to deal with. There's something refreshing about having a compact offline device loaded with hundreds of classic games that I can quickly pick up and play (and put down thanks to save states). All for less than $60. Since getting mine a couple of years ago, I've played and beat dozens of games that I never managed to when I was a kid.

I agree, I got the TSP last week put in a sandisk 200gb card and installed Crossmix OS
Portmaster is the real hero of the show, allowing you to play some pretty great ports on a the really nice screen. Well worth the time and effort.

Thank you for the tip about Portmaster. I had never heard of it before. It looks incredible. I might have to upgrade to a new handheld that supports it.
