Know what the 1st ingredient of a fruit roll up is? Corn syrup. Know what the second is? Sugar. Keep telling yourself these aren't much better. Healthy? No one said they were, but if your kid (or you) is going to reach for something sweet that isn't a whole fruit, you could do a lot worse.

The first ingredient of this is apple puree concentrate (not fruit juice concentrate) which does lose some fiber but keeps much of it. the second is apple juice concentrate yes, third is banana puree (not concentrate).

In the US ingredients are listed by weight from most to least. So the fruit roll-up is mostly corn syrup and sugar, while this is mostly apple puree concentrate, apple juice concentrate and banana puree.

Kind of a scam, frankly.
  • 4 grams of added sugar for 50 calories; that's a pretty high ratio, similar to literal candy bars.
  • As seen from the ingredients list below, this stuff actually has FAR more apple in it (one of the cheapest fruits, with apple juice concentrate a common substitute for sugar) vs. strawberry or banana.
Ingredients: Apple puree concentrate*, apple juice concentrate*, banana puree*, strawbery juice concentrate*, citrus pectin, lemon juice concentrate*, natural flavors*, Vegetable and truit juice for color*, acid.

* Organic

While it does not have any chemicals, concentrate fruit means it is basically sugar with some nutrients while missing most critical nutrients, fiber. It may be bit better than fruit roll up, but this is no way " healthy" snack.

Same as do my kids, but if they didn't as an adult I know kids are the world's pickiest eaters so I completely discount what the other commenter said, lol

Maybe kids should start running the country? Or maybe they can give medical advice?
