Great tool, only limited by its size but sometimes that's just what you need. Recently used it to make precision cuts on subway tile

I've been building out my tools in M18 Fuel. Thoughts on this one versus that one?

One of the nice features of this tool is that it won't "run away" from you with one hand operation. Some call it underpowered, I call it precise. I'd rather it stall out than go skittering over good material I don't want to deface. It's great for sheet metal (car bodies), drywall (dusty, unless using the vacuum attachment), and fiberglass. There's even a wood blade that fits it, but I haven't tried it yet.

I am not buying anything from home depot with their stupid delivery system upgrade.
They are ubering me items from my local store. I specifically don't want to purchase from the local store. I want my orders processed and shipped centrally.

lol. Ok

Wondering if you can get a 4" guard for these? I have hundreds of 3/8" x 4" cutting wheels and although I could probably use them with the guard removed, I prefer the added safety of using it for at least keeping my hand from contacting the wheel. Already have the 6" M18 grinder, but that's a 5/8" arbor and is huge compared to this (not to mention the heavier 18v battery).

Worst case I could modify the existing 3" guard, but I no longer have access to the fab shop at work (retired, yet still at it

It its anything like a dremel, which uses the same principle for cutting (high RPM, low torque, cutting with friction and not sharp edges or sawing) then a disk made for metal will burn the wood. The wood disc ads holes on the inside of the disc and teeth on the outside so that it is not constantly causing friction and allows air to flow for cooling, but you are essentially cutting it by moving hard material over it at very high speeds rather than cutting it by tearing through the fibers with a blade using a strong pressure.
