I appreciate your caution and am not a pig owner, but after having rabbits for quite a while, I've learned a lot of 'common wisdom' is bullshit, sometimes even adopted by vets (they aren't really animal scientists, more like mechanics). If this food were really demonstrably dangerous to pets, there would be lawsuits until the end of time forcing it off the shelf and likely the company out of business.

But people should always learn and make their own judgements and be on the safe side imo.
