First, there are a few mini PCs in this post. Varying degree of 'gaming' capability. The cheapest one will only play basic games. The others are capable of a bit more. That said...

AI is great for these questions, when this community doesn't give you enough. Don't trust it for everything, but Gemini/ChatGPT/etc are great at systems specs and determining how well games will play, because it's basically just math. Something it does very well. Copy/paste the specs of your system and list the games you want to play, it'll give you better info than you'll find anywhere else (unless you personally know a serious hardware nerd).

Also, something AI might not give you: Not sure if it applies to this company, but these manufacturers often throttle hardware in these Mini PCs so they'll run on slightly smaller power supplies than the CPU etc ideally would have. It's not an apples to apples comparison vs a standard desktop. Minisforum mini PCs are famous for this. I kinda expect they all do it, when it's not a N-series processor built for low power projects.

Lastly, if you're looking for a mini PC to game with regardless... you're not going to find anything much faster at this price point. I had to talk myself into returning one of these b/c it's a want, not a need.... but I'd be buying the 24GB one today otherwise. Great specs at this price level. And it will definitely play games. Just ask AI to tell you how well they'll play.

Is this something that can be used for newer pc games with shit settings? I've been out of the pc game for a bit and don't want to spend 20 hours researching.

Yes, the integrated 660M can play a few games at low settings. For the given price you won't find better specs than this.

How does this manufacture stack up in the miniPC world? Able to wipe the OS and get drivers? Thanks for the post, OP.

I've never heard of them. Minisforum is the one I have the best opinion of.

wondering the same. this brand is often on here, often popular deals too. seems like it checks all the boxes... seems like good amount of ddr5 memory and decent SSD space. decent processor I think....

Yeah, it would have no problem with it. You could run it in a VM or Docker and run some other things on it as well, if you wanted.

I'd go the extra mile and get the P3 Lite (B0DKTG7LSF) for $309 ($52 more). Better CPU, Faster Memory, Double the Storage, better GPU, 2nd LAN Port & a DisplayPort vs Second HDMI.

With a new OS install, are these secure or have there been any issues?

Wonder how two of those would work in a proxmox cluster

I am interested in the upgrade. It seems both models have "24GB DDR5( 12GBx Dual Channel, 4800MHz) memory". Can you expalin why P3 Lite has "Faster Memory"?
