the xenomorphs would not march like an army into machine gun fire. why can't the writers understand the premise?

I'm willing to forgive this man because overall, it is a good Alien movie with a terrifying atmosphere & interesting visuals. If we give it back to Ridley Scott he will keep making more bore fests with Fassbender synth playing the flute for 3 hours

Thanks! Used my $5 reward from Fandango.

Those Wednesday $5 off Apple Pay Fandango promos get me $5 Fandango rewards every week when I get $2-3 AMC Tues/Wed tickets for our family of four.

He's really wanting to push the evolutionary weapon, engineers, where we come from story.

The problem is nobody really wants that. We don't care where they came from. We just want Bill Paxton battling hundreds of these things.

I wish they'd stop making all these new mutations and morphs to "give something new" and instead just focus on the same recipe from the first or second film. We don't need anything else.

That said, this one was decent. Certainly better than any of the movies that came after the first two.

Alien Resurrection was fun as f. I really enjoyed it. The first two are classics.

What was so appalling about Alien: Covenant wasn't just the weird David stuff or how dumb everyone behaves or the fact that crucial scenes introducing the crew (esp James Franco's captain) and explaining how they did Shaw dirty were chopped out of the movie and stuck on YouTube for some insane reason or that the entire plot hinged on the ship needing repairs and just happening to hear a broadcast of "Country Roads" (REALLY?!?), but how they fell into the same trap Star Trek Discovery and Strange New Worlds did with their prequel series in that they present tech waaaaaaaay more advanced than the point we're heading to.
Specifically, David has been trying to weaponize the black ooze and has developed a form where it's a nearly invisible spore which can enter a host's ear or nose, infect them, and produce a xenomorph ready to pop in a few hours. Once you've come up with that, why the heck would you then proceed to make a big leather egg that requires idiots to stick their face into so the giant hand creature leaps out and throat[bangs] them, leaving a baby xeno. If you can infect people without their knowing, why this Rube Goldberg contraption?!?
It's like the scene in Big Hero 6 where Hiro demonstrates his microbots in order to get accepted into college. Are you freaking kidding me?!? If you've invented that sort of tech, you're not going to school, you're starting the next APPLE and hiring whatever that universe's version of Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Blackpink to deflower your 14-year-old gazillionaire butt!!!

Sadly, this is somewhat true, but that was more meant to be a paternal instinct when you attack the nest. The premise is well defined in Alien where self-preservation is a necessary and understood trait for the xenomorphs
