Just a heads up, I just bought one of these for 12.99 in a 75ft setup on amazon. its also a pain in the ass to set up as the clips dont have very long nails and come out when manuvering during setup.

Depends on the orifice size and I didn't see it on this listing. I have similar that shipped with 0.5mm that was more of a drizzle than a mist. Replaced with 0.3mm that was better for evaporative cooling. Kids will play with either, larger orifice = wetter.

Can the mist be adjusted? Or is either on or off?

I'm in AZ too and got something like this back in the day. It worked for sometime but at the end of the summer I was able to get a used pump for a good price and the difference was night and day. This stuff wasn't this cheap back then so you could buy this one and try it.

By the way, in AZ misting systems work great because it's very hot and very dry until around August. Right now is very hot and we have some humidity so the misting system is not as effective as in May or June.

Dripping - almost 120%
There may be some plants that specifically benefit from misting, but generally there are two downsides with misting: (1) it's just naturally creating a must cloud which cools the air, but evaporated immediately and doesn't actually water your plants. So if you're trying to water your plants, dripping at the root is a much better use of water. (2) I could be wrong, but I think a lot of plants don't really /want/ a lot of water on the leaves and this may lead to some scarring. Obviously, it rains on plants and most tolerate this, but plants absorb water via the root system.

Posts say this deal is dead and I haven't verified but it's quite easy to make this yourself with drip irrigation parts. I made one for our trampoline. You need:
  • Garden hose interface to connect to your garden
  • 1/2" polyline tubing (interfaces with the garden hose connector)
  • 1/2" Polyline to 1/4" Polyline barb connectors
  • Various misting water dispensers. Be careful to buy misters, not one of the various mini-sprinklers
These should also allow you to control the misting feature. If you get this for a trampoline, it's great, but it's good that the misters are adjustable because the high water output will have your kids looking like they went through a car wash after about 10 minutes.
(That setup is a pretty reasonable and you'll have lots of parts left over, but it'll cost more than this linked deal at $20)
