Pretty good deal but they're not the high output batteries.

I will not be buying anything from HD with their ubereats delivery service. I specifically don't want to buy from the store. Unless they offer to me the choice to buy with central delivery, they are done.
If you buy from Home Depot and the local store has the specific SKU in stock, they might use Roadie, which is now owned by UPS. In the case of this bundle, even if your local Home Depot has both the battery package and the Drill / Driver kit, they generally don't have the special buy SKU in stock, so it will ship from the central Home Depot warehouse, typically via OnTrac, FedEx, or UPS standard delivery (not Roadie).

Confession time: I own more brands of power tools than I'm comfortable admitting in public; From DeWalt or Ryobi, to Makita and Milwaukee, to several other brands and voltage 'models'.

From my personal experience, these m12 are the absolute sweet spot of power and portability.
I do maintenance at a secure medical facility, so I regularly have to run the gauntlet of 'mixed uses' when it comes to power tools. From driving anchors into concrete (this hammer drill has PLENTY of power), to the more delicate tasks such as recessed screws into very soft woods, disassembling locks, or driving stainless security screws. (Which can easily strip out if you're not careful or have a little finesse with)

I highly recommend this line for anyone in building maintenance or any of the trades. (They're real popular among AC folks/industrial kitchen equipment/etc)

Also, as mentioned this is a great deal on a rather battery-heavy kit. I too don't believe I've seen this many batteries in a single kit.
I fully agree with this well deserved plug for these M12 tools. I got this particular kit 3 weeks ago on a similar deal [homedepot.com] (2 batteries vs 4 here, but only costing $138 after hack). While I have *most* M18 series tools that are common to the 3 main trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical), these are what I grab for quick/small tasks or anything not requiring the additional power/endurance of the M18. Still lacking a "port-a-band," but a deal for one will eventually pop up. I do have a corded one that I can drag out for cutting larger conduit/pipe, so no real hurry/need for a battery powered one - I just *want* one Wink

I'm not so much cross-platform "brand wise" except for 2 older 18v Dewalt tools (sawzall and jigsaw) now using with M18 adapters [amazon.com]. But now I must keep M12 batteries along with the many M18's. At least I don't need chargers/batteries for other brands. This is where the true cost of ownership stems from = BATTERIES.

Now I have a dedicated shelf for my M12 array. This is the most accessed shelf in my cabinet now Smilie

Is this a better deal? https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/18508513
The deal you refer to has changed since I got it 3 weeks ago, but it's "hackable," because the free gift is a separate line item in the cart and on the receipt.

I was allowed to choose a 3/8" ratchet then ($229 total), so I returned that line item ($90.27) in store to end up with the kit + drill bit set for $138.73. This deal is all or nothing, for $199 and doesn't include the drill bit set, (but includes 2 more batteries) so it depends on your wants/needs as the final result.

Add this "hackable" deal to your cart to compare your final cost if returning the "free gift" vs this deal. May be comparable to my final cost, so do the math.

True. I'm far from a handyman. Just want the tools just to have in case I need to drill some holes in concrete. You think 4 batteries will be overkill?

Yes if for other than occasional use. Even the 2.0 will get you quite a few holes drilled. The included CP2.0 and XC4.0 should be plenty, in which case I would do the "hackable" deal and return the free tool to lower the price.

OTOH, if you know people who ARE a handyman or tradesman, you could flip the extra gift to them and likely even make a few $$. Whichever works for you, then use those savings to get a nice assortment (or multiples of the common sizes) of masonry bits to handle the concrete drilling. The free drill kit (for wood/metal) that is included should suffice for most other things.

EDIT for example: [Recent M12 purchases]

~3 weeks ago (hackable deal)- Hammer-drill, Impact, CP2.0 + XC4.0 (kit) = $138.73 after ratchet return.

Monday (hackable deal)- Oscillating Multi-Tool with M12 XC 5.0 Ah Battery (2-Pack) Starter Kit and Charger, and 3/8" ratchet (free tool) = $199

Wednesday - Cordless 1/4 in. Straight Die Grinder with (2) 5.0 Ah Battery Pack Starter Kit = $199

So, Total investment 138.93+199+199 = $536.93

I don't need the ratchet from Monday's deal, nor either of the (2) 5.0 ah battery kits. My cousin (plumbing contractor) will return me ~$100/ea for those = -$300 (could make money, but family ya see + I won't need to make a trip to return the ratchet).

So I end up with: Hammer-drill, Impact, (CP2.0 + XC4.0 batteries + Free drill bits), Oscillating tool, and Die grinder. That's 4 tools worth >$100/ea + 2 batteries + Drill bit kit) for $236.93.

And that's just trading dollars with Cuz, or I could cut my final cost by at least half.

He hasn't picked these up yet, so I may just keep one of the 5.0AH kits for myself (or swap out the CP2.0+XC4.0 in the box, cause I don't need yet another charger). I'll discuss that with him when he comes over this evening.
