Links do not Open when clicking on them thru app

This has been happening for weeks. I click on links and it remains on the same page. I deleted and downloaded the app again, which does not correct the issue.

Thanks for reporting this. Can you please answer a few questions so that the team can look into this?
When you say you click links and it remains on the same page, do you mean that when you are already on the Slickdeals app, and you try to click out to a merchant, like Amazon, the Amazon app/website does not open?
What happens when you click? Does it just stay on the deal page you were already on, or do you receive an error, a blank page, or something else?
Is this happening for all links, or only some?

Not sure if it's related/the same bug (please feel free to split into a separate post if not the same bug) but I just came here to report that links from deal alert emails to SD are just simply not working. And if it's an alert to an FP post, it doesn't show in the app at all. Very weird combo.

From Gmail app to SD app on Android. Have checked and all permissions are still there for the SD app. Deal Alerts open appropriately on ChromeOS laptop and Windows desktop, so not sure if it's my phone or the SD app or what. Thought it was a weird ad blocker setting on my phone but turned it off and the same thing is happening.

It sounds like you may be experiencing a known issue that happens on an older version of the app, and it looks like you are using the older Slickdeals app. Please check to see if there is an update available, hopefully that will fix this issue for you.

Which version is the newest one? Because I don't have any updates.

edit: I'm on 5.55 according to Android. I checked for updates before posting but if there's a newer version of the app, it's not showing up on Google Play. I don't think that's the issue.

Like I said, no permissions have changed or anything. The SD app still has the ability to open links, but it's not just the opening of links - there are straight up posts just disappearing if they trigger a deal alert email and I click the link on the email to open in the app.

The newest version of the app is 6.x. It's possible that you don't have access to it yet. I believe the new app will have a wider rollout soon, so please keep an eye out for it.

Hi - thanks for reporting this issue. This should now be resolved on the Legacy Slickdeals Apps (iOS and Android). As emceep mentioned, in the latest versions of the app this issue was not present, the new versions are slowly rolling out to our user-base, so please look out for the latest versions in the coming weeks.

It's been working fine the last few days.

Is there a way to get a pinned post or something that tracks known bugs in the app or something? I know it would be extra work but it would be nice.
