Seems solid for the price. 16GB RAM is easy enough to add.

Slightly dated mobile CPU with a new 8GB GPU... Might be worth it if you're trying to save money and a little space I guess. Problem is, you're likely to run into VRAM limitations above 1080p and CPU limitations at 1080p. Case being small restricts GPU choice as well. Must be why it's going on sale. It's a bit niche. If you're playing slightly older titles and/or top 100 most actives you'll probably be OK. Might not be the way to go for the latest AAA titles.

Basically a 2 year old mid grade system. I'd bite at $500. Spend another $200 and get one of the 35L deals.

Not sure how you say that with a spring 2025 gpu

These are like laptops with a full size GPU and 500w PSU. Better off with at least an Omen if you want to change parts.

8GB GPU, avoid it like the plague. Go for at least 12-16 GB VRAM GPU. You get stuttering and low texture swapping. Look up 5060 ti 8GB vs 16GB by Daniel Owens. Even 1080p games in 2025 use more than 8GB VRAM.

It's SODIMM laptop ram, but it does have 2 slots like most gaming laptops.

I feel like if you already have access to a Microcenter this can't possibly be a good buy.
