It's a pretty good system going off specs alone and the power limits mean the thermals are very well controlled.


However, I am always hesitant about Gigabyte build quality. I have two Aeros back when this line used to be a high-end creator laptop rather than the midrange gaming laptops they are now, but even then one of them failed within 2 years and the other within 4.

Depends on what you value. Those 5070s with OLED usually had a much older non copilot processer and were not a 4.2 lb packaged 16" laptop. I can definitely see people trading OLED for those two things at this price point.

I have an Aero 15 from a few years ago. It has not been the most reliable laptop. I am actually using it as I write this comment. The wifi connection is very flaky so I use ethernet for it. I had the sound go out and had to send it in for service. Most recently it would not even turn on. I stuck it in a closet for a couple of months then decided to have it looked at by BB where I had purchased it. They said I had to send it back to the company. I pulgged it it again when I got home just for kicks and it started running again. So far it has not messed up again and I run it continuously. I do love the OLED screen.

Had B&H did a price match and used their Payboo CC to pay. This saved me on 113 dollars on tax. So out the door is 1304.99 (stupid recycling fee). Seeing how my wife wanted a bigger screen laptop and I can also do some light gaming on it, its a deal for me.
