We have one of these at work. It works well shared, wired, wirelessly and produces good quality color laser prints. The problem with this model is the cost of consumables is way too high especially when I compare it to my Canon MF644C color multifunction laser printer I have at home.First, there's no high yield version of replacement toners. Second, these toners have a smart chip embedded in them, so the cost of a set a four toners well exceeds the sale price of this printer, even compatible toner brands, so in the long-term these can get expensive to use, especially if you print a lot.

I bought the equivalent version for around this price probably 5+ years ago. price of consumables is high - I bought 2 printers instead and had a complete spare printer for around the cost of another set of toner. I always bought new brand name toner on eBay for $25-$50 each. I was pretty happy overall except the Mac support is complete crap. it was a chore to even get printing at all - duplex printing or anything fancy just wasn't supported, at least on the 220 model.

what toners you use for the canon? I went with ones from Amazon and the toners started leaking and now my printer has toner inside and prints with lines and stuff, I guess now I need to take it apart and clean it

Tbf, the mac issue occurs on Brothers and Canon's too. Very frustrating. Our company has a BYOD policy, and the people with Apple's constantly complain that the printer doesn't work. The fix is simple - remove and add the printer again and it works...but a few days later it simply won't print to either the Brother (B/W Laser) or Canon (Color Laser) until the printer is removed/re-added again. No issues with our Windows or Chromebook users. Just Mac.

once we got it added, it didn't break on Mac - it was just that it didn't support many features beyond straight, simple printing - no duplex, etc - same with Ricoh full size copier - no staples, no selecting paper trays, no duplex, no high quality, etc.

the toner seems to be costlier even from third parties.

Doesn't even come with full cartridges, it says starter cartriges are only good for 1k prints. What a wasteful practice.

I also bought the 220 model 5-ish years ago. I don't use Wifi; it's plugged in via ethernet. It generally works fine, but my biggest complaint is that it wakes up randomly all the time. Prior to this I've had Brother and Dell branded laser printers and they never had this issue. It's really annoying, because as anyone with a laser printer will tell you, these things use a TON of electricity when they warm up, causing the lights to dim, etc. It does this randomly 1-2 times per hour when I leave it on. So basically I have to leave it turned off all the time, and just turn it on when I need to use it, then turn it back off again. Annoying when I'm trying to print from a laptop across the house.

Another annoying thing - you can't use the scanner without the printer being warm. So if you want to scan a document, you have to wait while the printer warms up, if it isn't already, even if you don't plan on printing. My brother also did not do this.
