Access to Apple Care at lower cost and 2nd year warranty included seem to make this a better offer than the Amazon.com and Best Buy. no?

throw this in the dump a few years from now. I've got a stack of non updatable iPads. what a waste of resources and technology.
That would be the same case with any tablet, though? All technology has a lifespan. For iPads it's like 10 years or so (I've still got my iPad from 2016 and it's running fine on older iPadOS). Software support for this will be 6-8 years. That's not a waste if use it regularly. Any other tablet would be even worse in terms of longevity. Plus the M3 is crazy powerful for years to come.

Why no love for Costco? Thought there'd be more chatter.

I'm still using my 2018 ipad pro on the most recent OS update. Why are you the way you are sir?

Its a pretty typical price and there seems to not be a longer warranty on this. Also adding all of the accessories in the description triggers peoples alerts which will cause some issues.

Well Siri is right. Base iPad makes more sense at 300 and then S9 has an OLED screen, good performance for everyday tasks, and an included pen for around $400-500 so it's a no brainer if you don't need a specific OS just like the base iPad is at 300. Then it's more ecosystem dependent above $600.

What does this do better over a base model iPad that isn't just more performance that most people won't use since they treat it as a media machine. Also wish SD staff wouldn't clutter up the site with so many of these posts. Just keep the best deals and link other stores in the same post. I know they bring older deals back to fp because I've seen them do it before.

Those who like to run their computers/tablets to the ground, my recommendation would be to trade-in your old one and get a new one periodically when the savings on the new ones are the greatest. Yes, there is a frictional cost aspect to this practice that many would abhor, but, you keep only one functional one in neat condition and get satisfying user experience when it comes to speed and functionality.
Last week I did buy the new 13 inch MacBook Air M4 from Costco for $800 even (sales tax holiday) and the plan was to trade in my five year old M1 MacBook for about $300. Ultimately, my daughter took the old one, as she was not able to use her ten year old MacBook. By the way, my old one still worked flawlessly. It was the thought of getting out in front of obsolesce that incentivized me to think about trading in the first place. First time I would have done it.

I just meant that this won't be trash in a few years like the other person commented. I just meant that it's gonna run fine for years, and it's not a waste of resources and technology.
