Out of curiosity, how much caulking do you do? Outside of a pro painter or (maybe) plumber, this seems like more of a hassle.

People with larger houses always have caulking in one room or another. If this simplifies the process, it makes sense. Besides, for folks who own M-series tools, the extra 2 batteries can be sold to reduce the price even further

Any DIYer that's replaced a few hundred feet of baseboards when redoing flooring, or put in a new kitchen backsplash, or built a 75-ft long retaining wall, can tell you why you'd want this.

I'm a pretty fit dude that can do pull-ups with more than my bodyweight, but thought I'd wrecked my right forearm flexors after putting that retaining wall cap on. I would have killed for this thing that day.

Couldn't, well... you know, for like 3 days...

I have this tool and love it. I am just a home owner, not a pro. It really does a good job in releasing pressure to lessen chance of drip and does a super job applying constant force. also lessens fatigue on your grip hand. I have some really hard to squeeze stuff and this makes it easy. I smiled first time I used it

All great points - and don't forget, as with all tools for the DIYer, this thing pays for itself the first time you don't have to pay a handyman to even do a simple task like re-caulking a leaking shower escutcheon (see, there's another use).

This is a SOLID deal! I had found a deal for 159 with the CP 3.0 battery a month ago. I couldn't wait as I needed the gun. Otherwise, this is an amazing price.

Interesting, I guess I haven't had to do a very large amount of caulking, but this tool sure seems pricey for what it is. I guess the allure here is the 2 batteries in there for that price. For what it's worth, it looks like ryobi's version bare tool goes for ~$74 for those with a ryobi battery.

Word of caution. This will push through and blow out all inside the gun. Need to be sure not to push it to hard and that the cut end is large enough. Basically ensure there is no restriction.

Otherwise it is a great tool I bought 2 months ago. Wish this deal was around as I could have used the batteries. I think I got it for around $80 with HD hack.

For those who already has the RYOBI caulking gun (either the old or new model), you don't need to buy this. Here's a video comparing this M12 to the older RYOBI model: https://youtu.be/TEFgcuIegv0?si=03Fw7rVqqW7ZonkABasically, M12 has a locking pin that needs to be engaged for the tool to function. But you need to unlock this pin to manually move the plunge. So the frustration is you have this extra step of locking/unlocking the pin. The RYOBI doesn't have this problem in either model. You can manually move the plunge as you please throughout your workflow. The newer RYOBI model has the anti-drip just like the M12. I have this model. The anti-drip has its good and bad. The video explains it better. The RYOBI can also stand by itself when you have a battery in it. The M12 can't do that.
