The possible reason is that sometimes Amazon default to ship S&S NOW rather than your normal S&S date. I have prime, and I got the "shipping now" option once a while, including this purchase. So I went back and change the "Change first delivery date" date to my next S&S delivery date, and then click on "Subscribe". Otherwise, they were going to ship now. In your case, it will need to meet the $35 threadshold because it's shipping now.

I don't have Prime and when I try to check out using S&S it's telling me I need to spend $35 for free shipping. Did Amazon just kill S&S for people who don't have Prime?

To qualify for free shipping (either with or without Prime), items must be "fulfilled and shipped by Amazon" and display "FREE Shipping" on the product detail page. Amazon is known to test different thresholds in various markets.

yes. Unfortunately you need to spent at least $35 if you don't have prime membership 🙄. It used to be $25 3 years ago but not anymore.

Is it me or we are seeing more olive oil deals lately. Is it that companies trying to dump their heat spoiled inventory or that the producing region is having a good season and they are expecting commodity price to come down?

I think this happens when you do not have any S&S items or subscriptions. The trick is to Subscribe and Save an item $35+ and then subscribe for the item that you really want to buy, then cancel the $35+ item subscription. It's dumb and I have no idea why Amazon does this. I hope it works for you.

No.
It's just this is one of the worst.
Even free would not take it.

Tried it about 3-4 times (online and in store purchases)
Plastic packaging makes it bitter rancid tasting not even good for cooking.

Would really appreciate it if you would pass the olive oil you get for free but don't want to me. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼

Not sure if this works for all of you, but I added 5 and got $15 instant rebate with stockUp & Sale: -$15 on top of the subscribe and save -$1.24.
Total for 5 is $8.46, no taxes for FL.

Only two brands you can trust.
Costco's Kirkland olive oil
California Growers olive oil (almost any bigger branded name)
The rest are Euro mafia who use rapeseed oil and other types to dilute

Yeah it's not very good olive oil. But it is cheap.

There was some supply chain issue with the workers going into strike in Italy. This caused worldwide supply shortages and prices doubled last year. I think the supply is climbing back up to the previous level and olive oil can't be stored indefinitely. So greedy companies who stockpiled are likely unloading their stocks. So it's a combination of both. That's why I see prices going down everywhere.
