Where are you seeing M1Pro on the best buy page? I see M1.

I see Best buys images show the touch bar. Didn't Apple get rid of the touch bar before the Apple Silicon came out?

Be careful with this "deal". The image and part of the specs show an Intel Mac. Also 8gb makes this obsolete for newer features.

I have purchased lot of open box items but I would advice against this one. For another 200 too 300 dollar more, you get M3/M4 with 16gb ram and new unit. The additional $200 is worth these.

Agree. This is like throwing your money away on the streets to pick up a block of metal.

Not exactly. I am using M1 air 8gb/256gb since first month. It gets the work done despite using few GB in swap memory. If this is indeed M1 series pro then $350-ish is what I would be willing to pay - although I have not seen anything under $400 for used M1 8/256gb but anything after $450 for M1 and used is not really worth it when new M3/M4 16gb is readily available at $700.

I have 16gb m4 and had to make tweaks so it can keep up with the browser tabs. Except for lighter loads, I don't see this thing keeping up with anything beyond light browsing and steaming. If you can use it, more power to you.

I do see ram issue if i have more than 7- 10 chrome tabs open. but at 4 to 7 tabs, it is manageable on my M1 8gb. you might wanna explore activity manager and see what app is resource hungry.
