so if I'm buying for a laptop (that has an open slot), do I use the heating or is that for external applications? yeah I know I can Google but I'd rather get 100 bad answers here.

edit: chatgpt said I dont need this for my specidic laptop, and that the heatsink is more for desktops.
"Do I use the heating"What is that even supposed to mean?

Anymore high performance electronics come with increased heat generation. Under normal circumstances you might be ok without one, but under load it is best to have a heat disipator. Now whether this is a good option for your laptop or not it would depend on the space available (laptops having less space will be limited on what heat sinks you can fit & if you don't have pcie 5 you might as well go with a previous gen memory stick and save some money)

Never use heating on your laptop, only with food until it's at an appropriate temperature.

Not from reviews I've read. For those applications the differences between PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 isn't worth upgrading. Also unless your motherboard supports PCIe 5.0 it would be a waste of money. Just get PCIe 4.0 drive and save some money.
