Last good deal for the 8TB versions was from amazon, $530 each. And then 10% back if you had the Amazon CC. => $477

This deal is $510, which is already pretty good if you need it now. And this is the cheapest 8TB NVME available.

But hopefully it gets better again soon.
I'd buy another 2x at $420

Is this price hike part of the tarrif or just because SanDisk bought WD SSD division thinking they can price it how ever they want? Or am I just really wrong? Lol

I'm just not seeing it. This is a deal I won't feel bad for "missing".

I have a 2TB SN850x and I think I paid $15x.00 for it long ago when it was new. Now it's $132 but you must buy two? No thanks....

I just bought another 990 for $160 on Sunday and it came down to $150 today... Qty 1...

This is an inventory dump and just more profiteering by WD, nothing more. Hard pass and TD!!!

Yeah gonna hold off for a better deal on the 8TB. It was ~$900 for 2x8TB just a few months ago. Around $450 a pop, versus $500+ here.

SanDisk did not buy WD's SSD division. WD (who previously owned SanDisk) spun SanDisk back off. I'm not sure what price hike you're referring to. SSD prices have declined slightly in recent months. There's a good chance they'll start to rise again, as some major NAND producers cut production.

I paid $200 for 1 Crucial 4gb T500 on July 20th of this year. This deal, you have to buy 2 of the 4tb to have an average price of $246 each. How is this a deal?

Well the price is actually reasonable, in line with the 2TB and 4TB instead of hiking rate per TB. It's been FP for higher prices, granted this deal is for 2.

Just to give people a reference. On Feb 25 of this year I got two 8TB for $869.18. If I remember correctly it was the same buy-2 deal, but also had one of those crap-shoot email signups and I rolled a 20% off. Original price for both shows $1,199.98

Was it a WD Black SN850X 2TB? New with guaranteed warranty? Not sure why so many people are crapping on this. This is literally one of the best gen 4 nvmes you can buy at the moment performance-wise.
